Rally Obedience (Rally O) is an ideal alternative to true AKC Obedience trials since it allows the handler and dog to work at their own pace. Although many take the course for fun, with no intentions to compete, you can advance within Rally to compete nationally, and all dogs are eligible to compete. Rally is a dog training sport in which the dog and handler complete a course designed by the rally judge. The dog and handler proceed through a course of 10-20 designated stations. Each station provides instructions regarding the skill to be preformed. These skills include heeling variations, jumps, various positions (sit, down, stand), and speed changes. Rally offers both dogs and handlers an experience that is fun and energizing.
