SMALL GROUP SEMI-PRIVATE OBEDIENCE CLASS
Basic training is important for every dog to help them live successfully in a human world. This class will teach you how to effectively communicate with your dog and how to teach them important life skills, and then proof those skills to be reliable in the real world. In addition to covering traditional on-leash obedience including sit, down, place, come, and heel, our unique approach to training emphasizes instructing you, the human, on how to behave in a way that encourages your dog to naturally follow your guidance. We prioritize our focus, concentrating on the skills that will most directly impact your quality of life and ability to integrate your dogs into your daily activities without stress and frustration.
Unlike traditional group classes, our small, Semi-Private classes only allow 4 dogs per class, providing a more personal setting and less distraction so both you and your dog can focus and learn. Small groups provide an excellent, more economic alternative to our private lesson packages for obedience training.
This class is geared towards dogs with little or no previous training, or dogs who know the basics but have trouble performing in new environments, around distractions, or without bribery. It also provides a fantastic next step after the completion of puppy class and can be used to set your dog up for success in our other classes like Canine Good Citizen or our other specialty classes. This class is not designed to address behavioral issues like extreme fearfulness or anxiety, reactivity with people or dogs, or aggression issues. For help with these issues, we always recommend our other training services including private lessons, board and train, or a behavior consultation.
*Please note – If your dog displays aggressive or disruptive behavior in class, you may be asked to leave. In this event, you will receive a refund of 50% of the class fee, and we will suggest an alternative training option.
The next available class date is: Saturday, May 25th at 12PM.
The course runs for six weeks and costs $300.
