K9 Connection offers increasing levels of Canine Fitness Classes taught by Leah Senecal. Check out the options below!

Introduction to Canine Fitness

The Introduction to Canine Fitness class is a great way to bond with your dog, and make sure they stay healthy for life. It is also an amazing opportunity to train with positive reinforcement to strengthen the bond between owner and animal companion and provide a full body workout. Using a variety of equipment, your instructor Leah Senecal, will guide you on how to properly position your dog for the following benefits:

  • Increased trunk and core strength
  • Stabilization of weak areas
  • Improved balance and awareness of the body’s position in space
  • Improved reaction and control
  • Increased range of motion in joints and elongation of the muscles
  • Build confidence
  • Weight loss and general conditioning

By the end of this course you and your dog should understand luring, some basic commands, the importance of posture, how to tell if your dog is fatigued and some introduction exercises that you can do at home.

Meet Your Instructor: Leah Senecal

My name is Leah Senecal. I am a licensed veterinary technician (NYS), certified canine massage therapist, and certified canine rehabilitation practitioner. I have had a love for both animals and sports my entire life. Being able to combine the two has been a dream of mine and it is finally coming true! I started Canine Fitness Unleashed, LLC in August of 2021 in order to help educate pet owners on the importance of proper exercise, both mental and physical, in a nonjudgmental and fun way. Everyone has to start somewhere! I would be honored to help you and your pet in any way that I can.

I work as a veterinary technician at an animal hospital in Buffalo, NY full time. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my pets. I have 5 cats and 5 dogs and they are my world! I travel with all of them and the dogs are all in different activities. I have some experience in agility, dock diving, protection/obedience, and nose work.
