Socialization
K9 Connection is home to one of the only Dog Aggression and Socialization Programs in the United States. Founder Tyler Muto has been recognized internationally for his expertise in canine behavior, presenting workshops, and speaking at conferences around the globe.
Our team has spent over a decade developing our approach to rehabilitation. Through a careful process, we have been able to socialize even the toughest and most serious cases.
Our approach to socialization is grounded in the fact that all dogs are naturally social creatures and have particularly strong social drives. Our process utilizes those natural drives to help dogs overcome fear and stress, and to build the dog’s confidence and balance.
Structured socialization sessions are not free-for-all playtime. It is a controlled process, tailored for each individual dog and designed to enhance a dog’s social skills. Although all dogs can benefit from socialization, we specialize in helping those dogs with known social issues who may otherwise be excluded from other venues such as Doggie Daycare or Playgroups.
***Enrichment and Structured Socialization are not the same. Dogs with “socialization issues” will not be accepted into our general Enrichment Program and socialization will need to take place as part of a training or rehabilitation program.
Cases can be addressed by our training staff, and socialization sessions can be incorporated into Private Lessons and Board and Train program. We can also schedule Day Training in conjunction with another training program. All of our training staff have been coached by Tyler on the process of socializing dogs.
