Enrichment Daycare Attendant

Enrichment attendants are responsible for ensuring that the mental, social, and physical needs of our daycare dogs are being met in a safe, engaging, and meaningful way. Ensuring that EVERY DOG is engaged with and gets “worked” according to that dog’s Enrichment needs.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have some professional experience working with dogs including: dog daycare, dog walking, or other relevant work.
  • Be comfortable working with all breeds and sizes of dogs.
  • Be available to work scheduled shifts that range between 7AM and 6:30PM, Mon-Fri
  • Be able to work on their feet for most of their shift and be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Have excellent time management skills.
  • Be a good communicator and team oriented

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and returning dogs to owners in a safe, well behaved, and controlled manner
  • Keeping dogs’ belongings organized and easy to retrieve for walks and pick-ups.
  • Monitoring dog social groups and carrying out appropriate behavioral management strategies.
  • Communicating with owners in a friendly and helpful way including brief recaps of the dogs’ activities for the day.
  • Recording information on the Enrichment Daily Roster report including check in/out times, activity participation for each dog, and any pertinent info for owners and K9 Connection management.
  • Communicating medical and behavioral issues to the office and management promptly.
  • Making sure that the Training, Enrichment, Daycare, Nap Room, Kennel Room, Kennels, and outdoor and adjoining spaces are kept organized, clean, and sanitized to K9 Connection standards every day.
  • Keeping additional areas of the facility clean, organized and sanitary during daily operations including timely cleanup of dog poop in the yard, taking out trash, and more.

Job Type: Part Time/Full Time Starting Pay: $17.00/hour

Client Support and Administration

Part and Full time available. No experience in the dog care industry required but must be comfortable around all types of dogs. Some computer skill required including, Outlook, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Docs. Must be organized, have good communication skills, manage time well, and enjoy helping people! Responsibilities include:

  • Welcomes clients and visitors and directs them accordingly
  • Booking training programs: Inquiry follow-up, scheduling, onboarding, Invoicing
  • Organizing and upkeep of the Reception area including some very light cleaning
  • Some handling of dogs: walking them to and from their owners for daycare and grooming
  • Managing the Training, Specialty Class and Daycare schedule
  • Managing support phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, text, etc)
  • Basic bookkeeping (invoicing, recording daily deposits, cash receipts, issuing refunds, etc.
  • Tracks stocks of office supplies, communicates with all departments regarding low stock and places orders when necessary
  • Maintains an orderly and clean office and lobby environment
  • Handles Enrichment dogs during Drop Off and Pick Up
  • Assists colleagues in other departments when needed

Dog Trainer – Full Time

Full Time Dog Trainers work with our Board and Train and private lesson clients on a variety of behavioral issues. The ideal candidate for Full Time Dog Trainer will:

  • Have an understanding of and working experience in balanced training methodologies and canine behavior modification
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be able to collaborate as part of a small tight knit team
  • Be highly compassionate. Our human and canine clients are from all walks of life and come to us with a variety of personal challenges.
  • Be comfortable working with challenging dogs
  • Be comfortable using a broad variety of training techniques
  • Have a strong work ethic and will also be flexible- adjusting plans, approach and techniques as needed
  • Be self-motivated and driven
  • Be capable of working a physically demanding job in all types of weather
  • Be open to learning new skills
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work evenings, some weekends and some holidays

The position will include: Training dogs according to K9 Connection’s standards of care, counseling human clients on building better relationships with their canine companions , communicating with clients on a regular basis, cleaning kennels and dog yards, contributing to overall cleaning and maintenance of our facility.

Dog Trainer: Part Time Contractors

Part Time Dog Trainer Contractors are needed to conduct evening and weekend private lessons as well as run specialty classes. Classes we have offered in the past are Scent, Rally, Puppy, and Semi-Private. We are open to offering new classes with trainers who have a proven track record of successfully conducting group classes and/or private lessons. Part-Time Dog Trainer Contractors receive commission- based pay.

The ideal candidate for Part-Time Dog Training Contractor will:

  • Have an understanding of and working experience in balanced training methodologies and canine behavior modification and will also have a working knowledge of balanced training tools (prong, e-collar, etc).
  • Be able to work independently as well as with our established tight- knit team
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Be highly compassionate. Our human and canine clients are from all walks of life and come to us with a variety of personal challenges.
  • Be comfortable working with challenging dogs
  • Be comfortable using a broad variety of training techniques
  • Be upbeat and enthusiastic
  • Be reliable
  • Have evening and weekend availability
  • Have a proven track record of successfully conducting group classes and/ or private lessons

Required Experience:  Dog training, 1 year working with clients

Independent Dog Training Contractors must be insured. We will handle all advertising, scheduling, and billing. Independent Dog Training Contractors are welcome to use our equipment or bring their own.
