One-on-one weekly lessons where you will learn how to effectively communicate, handle, and train your dog.
Customized Private Lessons are conducted over consecutive weeks at our training center and last approximately one hour each. In contrast to traditional group classes, our focus is solely on your goals for you and your dog. This means we move at your pace and target the skills and behaviors that are important to you.
We do not provide at-home training programs. However, as your training progresses, and at your trainer’s discretion, final lessons can be conducted at your home if relevant to your training goals. There is an additional travel fee associated with in-home lessons.
Private Lesson Program Options
The following packages are for those who would like to focus on basic obedience, or work on a minor behavior issues and manners. We will always target the training for your specific needs and goals and efficiently correct any problems. Reliable off leash obedience, with appropriate equipment, may be covered during this program as well.
All private lesson packages are customized to your dog and your goals.
Six Private Lessons: Foundations
Best for puppies, adolescent dogs, and dogs with everyday manners and obedience issues. In six weeks, we can typically accomplish:
- Loose-leash walking
- Core obedience: sit, down, place, wait, and drop it
- Recall foundations, including long-line work
- Household manners: door greetings, jumping, and settling
- Beginning distraction work
- Canine Good Citizen (CGC) preparation
Eight Private Lessons: Real-World Reliability
Best for owners who want a dog they can take anywhere, or dogs with one specific problem behavior. In eight weeks, we typically accomplish:
- Everything in the six-lesson package
- Proofing around higher-level distractions
- Lessons in real-world locations like parks, stores, and neighborhood walks
- More focused work on issues such as pulling, jumping on guests, socialization, or mild leash reactivity
- Introduction to remote collar training or off-leash foundations, if requested
Ten Private Lessons: Advanced Training and Behavior
Best for moderate reactivity, resource guarding, anxiety, or off-leash goals. Best option for working with more than one dog.
- Everything in the eight-lesson package
- Off-leash reliability training
- Final four lessons can be spaced out as tune-ups to test long-term reliability. All lessons must be used within one year of purchase.
***Private Lessons prices include any applicable taxes but do not include training equipment. Basic training collars range from $35-$50. For off-leash training and certain behavioral problems, low level remote training collars are recommended. We only use professional-grade, top of the line collars which range in price from $240-$290.
