Join us for our Hiking Hounds Adventure Pack, a monthly one-hour trail excursion with your dog, led by our experienced trainer, Chris Russell. An avid hiker, camper, and outdoors enthusiast, Chris will teach you and your canine companion how to safely navigate the scenic trails of Western New York while socializing with other dogs and people.
This monthly outing is ideal for dog owners seeking to enhance communication skills, refine leash handling techniques, boost their dog’s confidence in new environments, or simply enjoy a social outdoor experience with like-minded individuals under the guidance of a seasoned dog trainer.
Located within a 30-minute radius of downtown Buffalo, our hikes cater to participants of all skill levels, from beginners to moderate trail enthusiasts. Each hike starts with a 15-minute orientation, during which Chris will provide insights into the trail and outline his role as guide. You will then embark on a hike through picturesque landscapes for about an hour. At the end of the hike, there will be a 15-minute debrief session for any inquiries or feedback you may have.
The cost of our Excursion Class is $35 and is limited to 10 dogs and 2 handlers per dog.
Our next Adventure Pack is still to be determined. We will send details on where to meet once we have decided on a new location.
- Retractable leashes are not allowed for the safety of other hikers and dogs
- You and your dog must be able to complete 60 minutes of hiking on easy-to-moderate dirt and gravel paths.
- Wear appropriate footwear and bring an extra pair of socks in case your feet get wet.
- Bring poop bags
- Bring water and trail snacks for you and your dog
- Don’t forget a hat, sunscreen, and mosquito/tick repellent
- If something comes up and you can’t make it, you must let us know at least 72 hours in advance in order to receive your refund.
- If the hike is cancelled due to bad weather, your payment will be refunded, or we can apply it to the rescheduled or next scheduled hike
