Our comprehensive Service Dog Coaching program is designed to empower dog owners with the skills and knowledge necessary to transform their dogs into effective service animals.
Using a combination of Board and Train and Private Lessons, dog and owner will engage in dynamic and personalized instruction covering task-specific training, and public access protocols. Our expert trainers will use balanced training techniques to build a strong bond between owner and dog, ensuring that each animal responds reliably to commands and performs their duties with confidence.
This program WILL NOT cover:
- Cardiac/heart rate alerts
- Seizure alerts
- Diabetic alerts
- Tethering training (tying a dog to a child or adult who is a flight risk – very unsafe practice for both parties)
- Assistance for the visually impaired
- Heavy bracing work (person putting their full weight into the dog’s back for support)
Dog owners will have the tools and experience needed to ensure their service dogs are not only well-trained but also integrated seamlessly into their daily lives, enhancing both their own well-being and the quality of life for their service animals.
Program Prerequisites:
- For greater success, we recommend that dogs be no older than 8 months to be considered and to begin training in the Service Dog Coaching program, with the exception of dogs with solid foundations of training. The younger the better for the most successful outcome.
- Puppy Class if the dog is appropriate age and does not have foundational training
- Initial Consultation and Temperament Test to ensure that your dog is a good fit as a service dog.
- Includes education for the owner on the laws and qualifications for Service Dogs in the US
- The cost for the Consultation and Temperament Test is $129
